Beginning my teacher training with The Basildon Academies has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my professional journey. As someone transitioning from a data analytics and engineering background into education, stepping into the classroom as a trainee teacher working towards QTS was both exciting and daunting. From the outset, I was supported in making this transition with care, structure, and high expectations.

Throughout my training, I was never made to feel like I was navigating the process alone. The mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback I received were instrumental in developing my confidence and classroom practice. There were moments where the demands of planning, behaviour management, and assessment felt overwhelming, but these were consistently met with guidance, reassurance, and practical support from experienced colleagues who genuinely wanted me to succeed.

What stood out most was the culture at The Basildon Academies. It is a community that values growth, reflection, and continuous improvement. I was encouraged to reflect honestly on my practice, learn from mistakes, and implement strategies that had a real impact on pupil progress. Over time, I began to see clear improvements not only in my teaching but also in my ability to build strong relationships with pupils and manage the classroom effectively.

Some of the most rewarding moments came from seeing pupils gain confidence, engage more actively in lessons, and achieve success in areas they previously found challenging. These moments reaffirmed my decision to pursue teaching and highlighted the impact that supportive training environments can have on both teachers and students.

I am extremely grateful to The Basildon Academies for providing me with the opportunity to train towards QTS and for the unwavering support throughout this journey. The experience has shaped me both professionally and personally, and I feel well-prepared and motivated to continue developing as a teacher. The guidance, encouragement, and high standards I have experienced here have laid strong foundations for my future in education.
