EAL SUPPORT CO-ORDINATOR

We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to become an EAL Support Co-Ordinator at The Basildon Academies. 

Salary Range: Band 4 FTE £24,611 - £28,210 . Actual starting salary £20,919 with performance based yearly increments available.

Working weeks: 39 weeks (Term Time + inset + twilight) and Parent/Open evening as required.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (08:00-16:00 Mon-Thurs and 08:00 – 15:30 Fri).

The primary task of the EAL Support Co-Ordinator is to promote inclusion of EAL students, many for whom English is a new as well as second language, ensuring the minimum negative impact of this on students’ progression and learning. They will also ensure a rapid improvement in the quality of spoken and written English.

We are an aspirational academy operating across two sites.  The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst the Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5.   We pride ourselves on being a truly inclusive academy and this is actively underpinned by our motto ‘Aspire Believe Achieve’.
