Executive Principal’s Welcome
As Executive Principal, I am pleased to welcome you, our present and perhaps future students, parents/carers and friends to The Basildon Academies.
As a parent myself I understand that choosing the right secondary school for your son/daughter is a vitally important decision. I recognise the crucial role played by you as parents/carers in the education of your children. You want them to be happy and successful so you need to feel confident that we will provide the environment where this will happen. My Vision for The Academy is very clear and places the learner at the heart of everything we do.
I understand that starting a new school can be an extremely daunting experience. However, it has its benefits too. It offers a fresh start indiscriminately, an opportunity I would encourage every one of you to grasp with both hands. Nevertheless, I assure you that we are and will be here to help and support all our newcomers in every way and means possible.
My staff and I are committed to the provision of an excellent education for your son/daughter. Our aim is to enable each individual to achieve their full potential, whilst providing them with the personal skills which will prepare our students for life and work in the ‘real world'. As such, the opportunities the Academy offers are vast and ever expanding.
Our students leave our Academy as successful young adults who are prepared for the next stage in their career. The Academy is continually praised for the way students are cared for, looked after and supported in their achievement. Ofsted also comment positively on the good behaviour in lessons and around the academy with good relationships between staff and students engendering a positive attitude to learning.
I have very high aspirations for my Academy, my staff and my students. I am committed to raising the standard of teaching and learning and we are continually evaluating our advancement to ensure progression in this field.
I have equally high expectations of my students in terms of behaviour, effort and willingness to take an active role in academy life. I believe that the provision of a good education relies on the development of a strong three-way partnership between The Academy, the students and their parents/carers.
If you would like to learn more about my role and our plans for the future, I would be delighted to welcome you at one of our Open Events in November. Alternatively, please feel free to get in touch and I will be happy to meet with you in person.
