THE BASILDON ACADEMIES SHINE
On the evening of April 19th, our school hosted the regional final of The Jack Petchey Speak Out Competition.
Our two representatives, Year 10 students Kullen Leader and Ethan Levitt presented their speeches to an audience of 150 parents, friends and students. 15 schools took part, so the pressure was on. The standard was exceptional, and while our boys didn’t finish in the top 3, they were spectacular.
I would like to give special mention to our reserve, George Osborne who also attended. The student helpers were a wonderful advertisement for our school. Our performers who entertained the audience, Year 12 student Kurtis Pope on piano, and Year 11 students Natalija Tkacuka and Antonia Listrat with their dramatic scene from Blood Brothers really contributed to the success of the evening.
