We are delighted to announce that all of the students who took part in the recent Junior University Programme have passed the course.

To mark the completion of the course, students were invited to celebrate their achievements at the Southend campus of the University of Essex. Before certificates were awarded, students were given a tour of the University buildings including student accommodation. Year 10 student Anthonia Fowodu, who has ambitions to study at university, said; “The University buildings were really impressive and looked very sophisticated. The technologies they use seem so advanced and left me speechless.”

Students have really engaged in the course and should be proud of their achievements. Victoria Daley, Year 10, commented “During the project I really enjoyed the fact that we were treated like real university students. The visit to Southend University campus was an amazing day!”

Louisa Connolly, undergraduate at the London School of Economics, was full of praise for our students; “I really enjoyed working with the students at the Basildon Academies, hopefully they now have a greater understanding of higher education and life at university. I wish them all the best for the future and I know they will go on to great things!”
